The Things To Avoid When Drunk Texting
Have you ever regretted drunk texting? Drinking is a normal and fun part of life for many people. When kept under control, there is no harm to going out with friends and having some alcohol to liven up the occasion. Being with buddies is the perfect way to enjoy drinking alcohol – any mistakes you make around them will probably be forgiven and seen as funny the next day. Going out drinking these days is hardly ever a situation that stays between friends – cell phones give people access to almost anyone in their life at any given time! This isn’t usually a problem, but that can all change thanks to drunk texting!
Everyone knows that we can think, do and say things we would never dream of doing sober. Running your mouth off around friends is fine when you’ve all been drinking. After all, they’re in the same situation, and probably doing the same thing! You’re all just having a good time and probably won’t remember a lot of what is said the next day anyway. This all changes once drunken thoughts and ideas make it to the screen of your cell phone!
Alcohol can inspire us to send messages we would never dream of even writing to people if we were sober. And once they have been sent, they are gone for good! For this reason there are certain things to always avoid when drunk texting.
One of the absolute worst things to do when drunk is start texting either an ex romantic partner or someone you have a crush one. Good things rarely happen! In the case of an ex, people are likely to start drunk texting that they still love the person and miss them every second, or something equally embarrassing, or worse still, getting angry and starting a huge drama. Both of these situations can be incredibly embarrassing to deal with the next day, especially hung-over!
If drunk texting an ex is bad, sending messages to someone you are interested in romantically in the present is even worse. At least when texting an ex you can be safe in the knowledge that you may look like an idiot to that person, but at least they are in your past. With your current crush this is far from the case. That person you have made sure has only seen your good side, your best outfits and your funniest jokes now has written proof of your badly spelt, drunken feelings saved on their cell phone forever! Even your smoothest game can be destroyed by a single night of drunk texting.
Drunk texting isn’t a bad thing in and of itself. Sending safe, non-embarrassing texts to your friends after a couple of beers is no bad thing. This all changes when the messages are to someone you really care about, or don’t want to seem stupid in front of. Anyone you feel that way about should never, ever, be a part of your drunk texting!
