The Worst Kinds Of Drunk Messages
Drunk messages can be the worst thing about drinking alcohol. Lots of people like to go out and have a few drinks as part of their social life and there is nothing wrong with this. Alcohol can be a great way to relax, loosen up and have some fun. Some people get quite talkative when they are drunk and say things they would never say sober. If this happens with a group of friends it’s usually cool and no-one minds. More often than not, no-one will even remember the next day. Cell phones have changed all of that! Now, drunk messages last well beyond the night they were sent, and can even be spread on the internet! People need to be a lot more careful with their drunk messages, or things can go really wrong.
Drunk messages are good fun and harmless when they come across as hilarious and no-one is upset or offended. This isn’t always the case though! Alcohol can make people do and say things they would never do sober, and sometimes drinking brings out the bad side of a person. I’m sure we’ve all been around that one person who gets emotional after drinking. Alcohol seems to have the effect on some people of making everything a trigger for a big emotional moment. This is bad enough at the time, but a million times worse when the emotional outburst is recorded in someone’s messages.
There are a lot of stories that should act as warnings about drunk messages. Some of the most common involve people and their ex-boyfriends or ex-girlfriends. If you ask your buddies, I bet one of them has a story or two about alcohol and exes. It’s easy for people to go out, get drunk, and suddenly decide that their ex needs to hear from them! The same ex they have made sure to avoid and not speak to in months suddenly becomes the perfect person to call or text. This leads to some of the most embarrassing drunk messages possible.
If you think getting drunk and saying dumb or embarrassing things around your friends is bad, imagine the feeling of leaving drunk messages for your ex, which they can then do whatever they want with! Alcohol may have made you think leaving your ex a ten-minute voicemail about how you love them, but hate them at the same time, and a bunch of other drunken emotional nonsense was the best idea ever at the time, but the next day it will be massively embarrassing. Especially if your ex happens to play the message to their buddies, or even worse, put it online! The fact you can’t ever take them back is probably the worst thing about drunk messages.
It’s possible to avoid being embarrassed by the worst kind of drunk messages. It’s always a good idea to keep your exes numbers out of your phone. Write them down and save them somewhere if you absolutely need to, but having them at the touch of the button is just asking for trouble! If you have to leave drunk messages for people, try and make them funny, rather than so bad they ruin your life!
